| Texas Longhorns College Basketball. Should be number 1! | | So as some of you may know from my posts that I am a huge sports fan. My enthusiasm for sports doesn't just sit among the professionals, but at the college level as well. Which is why I have decided to drop a few thoughts about the Texas Longhorns. I am semi perplexed how they are not number one in the country right now. Texas has by far had a touger schedule up to this point by testing themselves with tough non-conference games consecutively against Michigan State and North Carolina who are both top 10 teams. Not only did they beat these two teams, but had a winning margin above 10 points. They also jumped into the Big East and played a pretty good Pitt team who while they don't have the star power they had last year is still 10 and 2 on the year. You look at the Jayhawks side and they have played a fairly easy schedule. Their toughest game was against Memphis and they aren't even in the same league that they were just last year and two years ago when they were making pushes at the national title. Against them Kansas was pushed to the brink and only won by two. After that game Kansas has had a fluffy schedule facing low quality teams like UCLA,... | |
| | 2009-10 College Football Preseason Predictions! | | As the 2009-10 College Football season approaches, It is safe to say that there will still not be a playoffs this year or for years to come. But, that does not take away the excitement, passion, and the tradition of rival games away from the sport itself. All the controversy behind the BCS computer ranking system, the polls, and Conference Presidents, Chancellors, and Commissioners is the reason why there will never be a playoff, and it is not OK! One main reason that there will be no playoffs is because several conferences had bowl deals before the BCS was created in 1998, which tells me that most schools will prefer to have a bowl game at the end of the year regardless on how good or bad thier season may have been, as long as they win 6 games. The problem is the elite conferences may get thier 3rd through 6th place teams in a bowl game from automatic bids over a Non BCS conference 1st and 2nd place team. What's really funny is the Non BCS conferences schools have to be good over a span of 4 years before they can be considered to play in a BCS Bowl game, schools like Utah and Boise State. That's what I call friendship football at it's finest, but even I can't deny that there are... | |
| | | How would you Fix the BCS? | | Ok, so it looks like the NCAA is stuck with the Bowl System, but right now it's a joke. What are your ideas on fixing it? Here's something i'm rattling around.*6 Conference champs get the auto bid, HOWEVER the champ must have at least 10 wins and be Top 20 in the Rankings. The conferences ranked from 1-11 (Rankings change every 3 yrs) and we go down the line until we get 6 berths. (My ranks would be the 6 BCS teams, then Mtn West, C-USA, WAC, MAC, Sun Belt)*'BCS Buster' gets an auto-berth if they are Qualify like before (Top 12 BCS, Conference champ) and are not already in from rule 1*Notre Dame gets in if they are Top 8 (same as current rule)*A max of 3 teams are allowed in per conference (current is 2). This fixes the rare problem like this year's Big 12*Any leftover spots are wild-cards, as per the current rules (at least 9 wins, Top-14 BCS)So, for example, this season it could mean the following lineup:Alabama/Florida winner (SEC)
Missouri/Big 12 South Winner (B12)
Penn State (B10)
Cincinatti (Big East if they stay in top 20)
None (ACC)
None (Pac-10, unless USC can win the Conf title)
Utah (MWC)
Boise St. (WAC, unless USC wins the...
| | Big games on Friday | | Time for opinions and picks for Fridays Ncaa tourny games. Davidson against Wisconsin. Hey if Davidson shoots the three ball the way they did against Georgetown Wisconsin is back to the cheese state waiting to see if Brett Farve comes out of retirment if they dont Wisc blows them off the floor. I like Davidson they are the smartest team left in the tourny. Stanford and Texas. Texas got Speed Stanford got great inside play. Speed wins give me Texas. Villanova and Kansas. Can you say 1985 all over again Yes Nova is good I will take the Big East over the Big Ten anyday Kansas falls. Michigan st and Memphis. Memphis is with out a doubt the most athletic team I have seen in a long time and even though Calpari is a weasel he has one hell of a team Memphis by at least 20. Let me know what you all think. | |
| | Pitt Panthers 2008 National Champions! | | Pittsburgh Panthers basketball team are Big East Tournament champions for 2008. I did say national title didn't I. Well the Big East has had more tournament bids then any other conference, actually more then any two other confererences combined. The NCAA Final Four gets 2x the ratings as the NBA and the Madison Square Garden Big East Tourny gets higher ratings then the NCAA's. Best Tournament in the nation. Pittsburgh is the national championships in the best conference. lol. | |
| | West Coast or East Coast rap artists? Which do you like better? | | I like 2 Pac best of all the rappers and Snoop Dogg, but I don't know that West Coast rappers are neccessarily better than the East Coast rappers, I think it's just a matter of style, and voice and timing, not location. Background story of the fights:Arguably the most famous rap feud of recent times, the rivalry between the East Coast's Bad Boy Records and the West Coast's Death Row Records consisted of shots from Death Row toward various acts and, more specifically, Bad Boy, although the media billed it as a "rap war" between two coasts. Fans of and from both scenes denounced each other's native artists, engulfing all of rap culture.
There's a rumor that West Coast is Bloods and East Coast is Crips, which adds to the fighting.Marion "Suge" Knight & Tupac= West Coast
Puffy Combs (now P-Diddy) & Notorious B.I.G.= East Coast
| | What the hell is goin' on? | | Maybe I'm crazy... Maybe you're crazy... Maybe we're crazy... Probably...
This is me and Rick Ross.
I don't know Rick Ross. I've met him, sat down and interviewed him but I don't know that nig.ga anymore than those 10 minutes with him and listening to Port of Miami (Ok, I gotta number too but other than that...)
What I'm getting at is, I CAN'T GET YOU SIGNED! I know my MySpace album is full of pictures with me and random celebrities (meeting Flava Flav was one of my favorites) but most of those pictures come from a total of three nights and a couple of interviews, any other time I'm a regular ni,gga, just like you, going through the motions at A&T.
Yes, I work at a radio station, but I don't put n,iggas on...anymore. I would love to break the next Lupe Fiasco or Rick Ross but I work at an old soul station where there is probably an 100:1 ratio of Gospel/R&B to Rap.
Don't hand me your demo, tell me to call you, try to get in good with me because its a wasted effort. In the words of Dave Chappelle,"send that sh.it through the proper channels." I'm not a program director and I sometimes wonder where I stand with my own PD. (Still love her for being hard on me though)
