| Scholarship or Self-financing? Iowa or Missouri Columbia University? | | Here's the case lying ahead of my girlfriend.she is setting aboard for study and she's got two idea universityies' offers in Journalism major.It would have been a much easier poop to make if both of these two universities give her scholarship. If she goes for Iowa University,she could sve most of the expenses,coz the scholarship covers almost everything, while inside her mind she is very unwilling to lose this one-time-in-a-life chance to study in a prestigous institute, but in that case, more than 300,000RMB could be consumed during her study time. Her finanical background is ok, not very powerful though, yet 300 thousand is hell lot of money. However decision it would be,her plan is to come back working in China in the future. Now she is very confused whether it is worthy to consume that amount of money to earn a degree in Columbia over Iowa university. It's easy to think out this way, where can you get that 300 thousand back in a years' time under the current market,the caculation is not that hard.but how do you perceive this issue anyway? | |
| | 15 Year Old Missouri Girl Indicted on Murder Charges | | 15 year old Alyssa Bustamante was indicted on first degree murder charges in the killing of 9 year old Elizabeth Olten. She allegedly cut the little girls throat and stabber her. Reason, "she wanted to know what it felt". On a day off from school she dug up two holes then proceeded to plan out the murder for a week. On October 21, 2009, Elizabeth Olten became the victim when visiting her friend, the younger sister of the accused. If convicted on first degree charges as an adult she will get life in prison without parole. I believe that is exactly what she needs to get. This to me is a "bad seed" that will not be able to be rehabitated. | |

She was walking home from her girlfriends house only 4 or 5 houses from her own house and never made it home. She went missing on the same day that Somer Thompsons body was identified in a dumpster in Georgia. This has become an epidemic as far as I'm concerned with crimes against our children and especially our little girls. Two precious little girls killed in one week. Missouri State Police put out a report of who should be profiled as terrorists. Get this: Ron Paul supporters and people who are affiliated with a group, I think it is Sons of Liberty, they are a political movement fighting for smaller government. I thought this was America? I thought this had to be a joke. But, it's real. Somehow, a guy at st louis airport ended up getting hassled by airport security over cash he had, which turned out to be from book sales with an organization called Sons of Liberty (?) he recorded the entire thing. I just don't understand how this can happen. Let's not forget that the State of missouri brought McCain up on charges during the election.
This seems like a civil rights issue, no?? I don't care which side anyone is on, but to blatantly persecute this way, seems way over the line. Of course, that line is seems to be pushing farther and farther away from what this country was founded on. | |
| | | Here is the newest law for debate in Missouri | | They are now wanting to start to fine people $1000 for throwing a cigarette butt on the ground. I am not a smoker but I think this should not be for the first offense. For the first offense they should do community service by wearin a pair of rubber gloves and picking up cigarette butts or other trash for a total of 15 hours. The paper on the cigarette and tobacco are degradable but they say the filter itself has a life expatancy of over one year. Most places with outside smoking areas USUALLY have someplace to put the butt.
