| | How hard do/can you cry? | | I don't cry a lot. I cried so much as a child and then as a teenager that I guess I'm making up for it now. There is nothing wrong with crying, and it irks me sometimes that men or young boys are looked down upon for crying. But anyway, I'm off the topic. When I was around 18 a local TV sports reporter died in a plane crash that also took the life of some Oklahoma State University ball players. I remember one of the female newscasters crying silently as footage was shown of the downed plane. They were coming back from a game, and they were in a small aircraft. Anyway, that night I cried so hard I gave myself a migraine. The local sports guy was one of the nicest guys, and he and his family were heavily involved in community projects. I hate crying that hard. I've done that a couple times in my life - cried so hard it gave me a migraine. How hard do or can you cry? I've heard some people have cried so hard they've thrown up. I'm gladthat's never happened to me. | |

| | Sherrif runs sex slave ring out of jail | | Chalk this one up to how corrupted some people are becoming.....http://www.koco.com/news/15904129/detail.htmlFor someone who is supposed to uphold the law I have to say right now that this is disgusting, and he took advantage of his position and the law.>Michael Burgess surrendered to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents and posted bond Wednesday night, hours after he resigned as Custer County sheriff amid 35 felony charges, including accusations of forcible oral sodomy, kidnapping, rape and perjury. Investigators said at one point Burgess oversaw wet T-shirt contests at the Custer County Jail. <Truthfully people who commit crimes like this should be forced to go through the same things that they put others through.I also think that this shows how corrupt some people are and how some people will abuse their powers....
and people in the county say just that, that they will not know who to trust in levels of leadership and political office.Sorry but this upsets me, slavery was done away with, and with this many charges against him I am sorry I very skeptical of his innocence. What do you think should be done to a man who faces charges like...
| | Anybody out there ever been to Stillwater, Oklahoma? | | I'm curious - how many myLotters, besides me, live in or near Stillwater, Oklahoma? I grew up in Oklahoma City, but went to Oklahoma State University and have been lucky enough to stay and become a member of the community here.
Eskimo Joe's and Hideaway Pizza are two of my favorite local restaurants.
How about you? Do you live here? Have you been here? Both Presidents Bush have been here and claimed to have eaten at Eskimo Joe's (neither did, but it made them feel "cool" to say they did to the university students).
| | For those of you who thought I was nuts about the law | | I just talked to the Oklahoma STate Senator. I had sent her an email not long after my son had died. I will be covering this story on AC so make sure to check it out for full details. She is going to go in front of the board and in front of the Chief of Police so that she can go to the top law men and see how to go about changing this law for Negligent Homicide. She said that once she does this and get's their full support, she will go in front of the legislature to get this bill passed. Once that is done, it will go in front of someone else who either decides to except or veto it. This will all take place within the next few months. The bill can not be passed or vetoed until the begining of next year. I finally did it!!! I am getting them to help me to change the law. I am so excited. | |
| | Miami Dolphis coach accepts head coaching job at UA | | Saban Decides to Leave Miami Dolphins for Top Job With Alabama
Tuscaloosa - Nick Saban is 'Bama bound. Ending five weeks of speculation and two days of deliberation, Saban decided to accept a job from Alabama and abandon his bid to rebuild the Miami Dolphins after only two seasons. He informed Miami owner Wayne Huizenga of the decision Wednesday morning. Huizenga announced the departure at a news conference, without Saban. The Crimson Tide first approached Saban shortly after they fired Mike Shula in late November. Huizenga said he received repeated assurances from Saban that he would return in 2007, and the coach issued frequent, angry public denials of interest in moving to Tuscaloosa, such as on Dec. 21, when he said: "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach." But when the Dolphins' disappointing season ended Sunday, Alabama sweetened an offer that reportedly would make him the highest-paid coach in college football. He has three years remaining on his Miami contract at $4.5 million per year. A preference for the college game may have also swayed Saban. He won a national championship at Louisiana State and is 15-17 with the Dolphins. They went 6-10 in 2006, his...
| | R.I.P to Denver Bronco's cornerback Darrent Williams | | Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in downtown Denver early Monday morning.
Team spokesman Jim Saccomano said police called him about 3 a.m. from the scene of the shooting and told him three people had been shot and that Williams had been killed.
A little after 2 a.m., a white Hummer limousine was sprayed with bullets from a vehicle that pulled up along its side, said Sonny Jackson, spokesperson for the Denver Police Department.
It's really sad that a young man lost his life in just a blink of an eye. What are your thoughts? My condolences got out to his family.
Three people in the limousine were hit and were taken to area hospitals, where one man was pronounced dead, Jackson said. The other man and woman who were shot were not identified.
Jackson said police were searching for the suspects and interviewing witnesses. "We have no motive yet," Jackson said. "We're hoping to talk with witnesses to find out where they were coming from, and that might give us some clues."
Saccomano said he spoke with coach Mike Shanahan and others in the organization. "Complete shock. We're speechless. It takes words away. A terrible...
| | Toronto 94, New Orl/OKC 77 | | OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Toronto Raptors found a way to win away from home: Don't give up so many points. Chris Bosh had 19 points and 14 rebounds, and the Raptors had their best defensive effort of the season in a 94-77 victory over the New Orleans Hornets. It was their first win on the road in eight tries. "We're really starting to clog that lane up," Bosh said. "That's what you have to do on the road, play defense well." The Raptors had been allowing an average of 106 points in their seven road losses, and they hadn't given up fewer than 97 in any of their games outside of Canada. With the Hornets missing two of their top three scorers, Toronto was able to hold New Orleans to 32 second-half points. "This is a big win for us on the road," Toronto coach Sam Mitchell said. "Any time you can go on the road in this league and get a win is big." Anthony Parker also had 19 points, and the Raptors got a big lift with 45 points from their bench. No. 1 overall pick Andrea Bargnani scored a career-high 16, Joey Graham added 14 and Jose Calderon tied his season best with 13 points for Toronto -- all three off the bench. "This team's got really good... | |
