| Horses Being Found Butchered in South Florida. | | Since January nearly 20, 17 in Miami-Dade County alone, horses reported stolen have been found tied to trees and butchered for their meat. These horses were beloved pets, not livestock. I realize that in some countries it is legal to buy and sell horse meat, but in the US this isn't the case. What is it like in your country? How do you feel about the black market buying and selling of stolen horse meat in America? You can learn more at www.cnn.com if you search for "horses slaughtered". | |

| | We Just Had Another Tea Party Today Here in East Central Fl.!!! | | It was held at a place called Wickham Park. There was close to a thousand folks there. We had US D15 Congressman Bill Posey as one of the main speakers. He did a great job. No Boos there. There were also a couple of local politicians who spoke. The best part was when 20 different folks from the audience were picked out of a hat and given a chance to speak off the cuff. They all did as well as the proffesionals[em]rasp[/em]!None of this will be on any TV news station though, or any newspaper. They were not there. No one except us cared. I suppose someone from the Republican Party will give the info to the papers, but we do not know if they will print it.The only person taking proffesional pictures was an ACORN. He very methodically went around and took a picture of each person there, and each license plate in the parking lots. When he was interrupted, he would walk away for awhile, but hten he would be right back at it a few minutes later. There was no stopping him.The only problem with the license plates was that the Travelling Vietnam Wall was brought in at the same time as the Tea Party, so a lot of the cars in the Lots were there for that. Of course a lot of them... | |
| | Shopping Carts In The Canal - Why Do People Do Vandalism Acts? | | I was out walking the other day and looked down into one of our canals. We have many canals down here in Florida. Anyways the canal was beautiful except for one thing - someone had dumped three shopping carts down into it.[em]thumbdown[/em]I don't know why it is that people have to do acts of vandalism such as this. It is just a shame because not only does it dirty up the canal, but now a city employee will have to go down there and pull those up and out of the canal. Then there is the cost of the grocery store getting the cart back, cleaning it up and sterilizing it (because as beautiful as the canal are they are still water and have algae and all kinds of funky stuff growing in them). And then people complain about the rising cost of groceries, etc. Well, if people watched their children and made sure they were at home and being good instead of out there vandalising things then maybe prices wouldn't be so high. It just irks me to no end. That is utter disrespect for other's property and for nature too. There are animals that live in these canals. I will assure you that if I ever saw a kid or anyone dumping something or vandalising something I would take a... | |
| | Electric vehicals | | I come from Utah, which is one of the most backward states in the United States. I wanted to get an electric scooter to get around town for short trips. This would save my family from using any gasoline, accept when we needed to leave town. The state of Utah has made it so that an electric scooter that only goes 20 miles per hour, is classified as a motorcycle. There fore you have to register this scooter and you have to have a motor cycle license to operate it. I won't be getting one because of this law. They don't care about energy consumption. | |
| | Renewing you Driving license after age 55 | | It is my opinion that after age 55 if you want a new drivers license you should have to go and retest for it. You should have to take all test again, the written, the driving and especially the EYESIGHT test. I wish there was a test where the instructor could ask you how fast you think your going, cause 25 in a 55 is awfully slow. Sorry, I live in south florida and this time of year we get invaded by a bunch of rich old people who do not know how to drive, it is really frustrating. I Pray that the Federal Government get wind of this and put this into law even before I turn 55 so that I will not be the guy getting in the way of some poor sap trying to get to work. What do you think?gs then maybe prices wouldn't be so high. It just irks me to no end. That is utter disrespect for other's property and for nature too. There are animals that live in these canals. I will assure you that if I ever saw a kid or anyone dumping something or vandalising something I would take a picture with my camera in my phone and immediately call the police.[em]ninja[/em]I have no tolerance for this whatsoever! So, what do you guys think about this?... | |
| | Bowl Game | | Oregon beat South Florida 56-21, so they can win in an important game. Justin Roper, the young quarterback did well and looks like he just needed more time. Jonathan Stewart played very well also.I hope Oregon works hard in the off season, as there were a lot of penalties. We can see that the team relied to much on their big star quarterback, who was injured in November. | |

| | Have you heard of Code ADAM, brought on by murder victim Adam Walsh? | | Is anyone here old enough to remember the 1981 case of murdered child Adam Walsh? I was just reading a news article that reminded me of this tragic case. It inspired the murder victim's father, John Walsh to create the television program "America's Most Wanted", which he personally hosts.Another thing that came about as a result of this tragedy was the children's pictures on milk cartons and alsoCode ADAM.In case you have never heard of it,Code ADAM is an internationally-recognized "missing child" safety program in the United States and Canada. It was originally created by Wal-Mart retail stores in 1994 and is named Code ADAM in memory of Adam Walsh, the 6-year-old son of John Walsh. Basically it is a series of steps in order to locate a missing child in a public store, or building that has Code Adam implemented. There are 6 steps that are involved in a Code Adam incident. They are as follows:[i]"If a visitor reports a child is missing, a detailed description of the child and what he or she is wearing is obtained. Additionally, all exterior access to the building is locked and monitored; anyone approaching a door is turned away. The employee goes... | |
