| | The First Family goes to church | | There has been much ado about the President and the First Family's failure to attend a Christian church since moving into the White House. An often seen speculation on this board is that he and his family are closet Muslims.Today, in celebration of Easter Sunday, the President and the First Family attended services at St. Johns Episcopal Church near the White House. Not only did they attend the service, they took Holy Communion. This is not a requirement...people do and don't partake of the Holy Sacrament for a variety of reasons. So, now I'm wondering...are Muslims permitted to take Holy Communion? As far as I know, Islam's view of Jesus is that he was a profit. | |
| | Canker sores | | If you have ever suffer from cankers on your tongue, or gums, you know how sore it can be. I read online at "Midlife Magazine" about St Johns Wort. I bot a bottle, tho I was skeptical, however I was desperate to get rid of discomfort that was in my mouth. After taking 1 capsule, it was gone in about 1/2 hour. So, give it a try. If you should hear of any other remedies for this, please respond.

| | I had a big time Melt down when I saw...... | | Off the cost of Canada in St. Johns I saw a Celtic (Irish) cross on a small Island. There were 2500 Irish people buried on that Island,. They had come in the 'coffin' ships from Ireland to escape the Potato famine and had died through typhoid and other diseases.[em]sad[/em] I am of Irish blood and my GM had told me countless stories of families trying to save the life of at least one young person by sending them to the USA/Canada. So here were people of my ancestry in this Island cemetery.I then went to Dartmouth by ferry from Halifax as I was interested in learning about the 600 Maroons from Jamaica that the British had never been able to conquer. They were told that they were going back to Africa but were sent to Dartmouth and settled here as free men. In fact they build the garrisons that defended the coastline from the French invasion. | | No More Antidepressants!!!!! | | The doctor put me on Cymbalta about a year ago. First I was a 20mg. went up, and up. All the way to 120mg. I told him I would only take 90mg. So thats where I stated, plus I was on pain meds. So with all that I have side effects, dry mouth, sweating all the time. Every time I've been to the dentist I had 2 to 4 cavities. Plus I would get mouth sores. I always wondered what the meds were doing to me. I know I lost a lot of feelings in my lower body. And did not enjoy sex any more either.So a few weeks ago I told the nurse I was quiting the Cymbalta. All she said was that I should do it slowly. So I went down to 60mg a week, then 30 a week. Then I stopped. And wow the withdrawals were terrible. I found some 20mgs that I had left, So I started the 20mgs. But my ears are still ringing. Soon I will be off the 20s too.Yes I feel the back pain more. But hay. I'm still on pain meds which help. I went to the internet and read about the withdrawals from hell..from antidepressants. I just can't believe the Doctors and Drug companies. What are they doing to us???I read about St. Johns Wort, that is suppose to help. Have any of you tried it??Please tell me your feeling... | |
| | Mood Enhancing Herbs or Supplements | | Who here uses natural mood enhancing herbs or supplements? I've used some such as St.Johns Root and I was wondering what other mental stimulants there are out there. I think that each supplement is a good way to evolve and help open my mind better. | |
