| Filters for digital cameras | | Hi guys,
does anyone know of any filters that are available for compact digital cameras, I have a fuji finepix and I would like to be able to filter out bright sunlight and reduce glare, I know it can be done after processing on your computer but a simple filter as on my SLR would be ideal and so much easier.All the best,

I want something in the 100-150$ price range (US shops) and I have few favorite candidates: Canon PowerShot A560 135$ and Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ6S 150$. | | Digital Cameras | | Decades back, I have invested so much for film cameras and lenses as photography was my hobby. Today, these cameras are packed in one of my suitcases. I dont know what to do with them. I had the NIKON F2AS, FA, F3 and other cheaper ones. I had also the 120 format cameras. They cost a lot during those days including the lenses. I have also accummulated sacks of photographs.Today, the digital cameras (they come in cheap in most models) have taken over the film camera where a mere 512 memory card can take thousands of pictures, saving you the costly films. The zooming capability is built-in thus needing no interchangeale lenses (bulky in your camera bag). With the use of computers, the images could be instantl viewed and printed. The images can likwise be easily edited - No need to do "bracketing" in the ordinary film camera. Digital cameras can also do movie clips and record sound. The use of digital camera is so simple that even a child of 5 can take photographs and movie clips. Digital imaging has made film photography obsolete. | |

My personal story is that I somehow never use "normal" cameras but lately I've been using my mobile phone camera a lot. I absolutely love this direction that mobile phones are taking by improving their cameras significantly and even getting 5MP cameras (although MP's don't tell the whole story). | |
| | With digital cameras so widely used, do you have many newer paper pics? | | I've thought about it and while we have a ton of pics we seem to have gotten away from actual paper pictures that we take. All of our pics are now on the computer or stored on websites with storage for pics, etc. It just seems to be the way of the world. I will take one once in a while and get it developed at a local place or chain but more often then not I simply take the pics and place them on the computer or on a disc.Makes one wonder how long before paper pictures are obsolete. | |
